Boulevard Heights

Boulevard Heights is a neighborhood located in the southern region of St. Loui City with a population, at the time of the 2010 census, of 8,708 residents. It is bounded by Bevo and Princeton Heights towards the north, portions of the St. Louis County unincorporated region of Affton at the south and west and Carondelet at the east. It is represented by three Aldermen sitting in the 11th, 12th and 13th Wards.

Though not much is known in regards to the region’s development, the area of Boulevard Heights was originally a Spanish land grant to Eugenio Alvarez. Eventually the land was surveyed into minute tracts owned by Americans and incoming Germans. Subdivision for residential functions commenced in the later portion of 1870s. Some of the present-day Boulevard Heighs landowners were Roswell Martin Field, the lawyer of the Dred Scott Case fame, and Chris Koeln, both of which whose names are trbutes to several of the streets today, as well as James Bowlin.

Residents of Boulveard Heights are served by the St. Louis Public School District.
