Near North Riverfront is a northern St. Louis City neighborhood nestled along the Mississippi River. A fairly large area, the neighborhood covers nearly 2.17 total square miles of land. Mainly industrial in nature, its population, at the time of the 2010 census, was recorded at 553 residents. The neighborhood is surrounded by College Hill, Hyde Park, Old North St. Louis and Columbus Square to the east, the sister neighborhood of North Riverfront towards the north and Downtown to the south. It is represented by three Aldermen sitting in the second, fifth and seventh Wards.
Although there are some residential areas with the community of Near North Riverfront, the neighborhood (as mentioned previously) is a largely industrial region with the calculated 553 residents housed along the streets between North Broadway Avenue and I-70.

Some of the major industrial and construction businesses that call this area home include Lange-Stegman Company, Procter & Gamble, Elantas PDG, Inc., Heintz Steel & Manufacturing Company, PSC Metals, Inc., Rimco Scap Metal, Grossman Iron & Steel, Duke Manufacturing and more.
Rootwad Park is a sculpture park crafted City Museum creator Bob Cassily before his death in 2011. Much like the City Museum, Rootwad showcases the mind of Cassily with several concrete animal creations and out of this world designs … all made out of metal and brick.
The Caramel Room is a reception venue with natural light, hardwood floors, an outdoor terrace featuring river and skyline views, state of the art lighting, and chocolate-infused culinary adventures, all encompassed within a working chocolate factory.
