Over the previous few weeks, John Sebree, Missouri REALTORS® CEO, has kept close contact with the Missouri Governor's Chief of Staff and the Missouri Department of Economic Development Director for any updates regarding COVID-19 vaccination rollout. This morning, they discussed when the vaccine would be available to Missouri real estate professionals.
Real estate professionals will fall under Phase 2 of the vaccine rollout (unless that individual falls into Phase 1A or 1B due to age, underlying conditions, or other reasons). Phase 1B Tier-3 will launch on March 15, and it is estimated that Phase 2 will begin 45 days later, approximately May 1, 2021. The state is now receiving about 120,000 doses per week. Additionally, the vaccination timeline may be sped up if the Johnson & Johnson vaccine becomes widely available.
Once Phase 2 begins, you are encouraged to sign up multiple times with multiple providers to increase the chances of a confirmed appointment. According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) guidelines, real estate professionals are included in the "Financial Services Sector" of essential workers. This is important to note because some vaccine surveys will ask for that information.
