With heavy hearts, we share the somber news of the unexpected passing of Michele Sloan, our esteemed colleague and the 2020 President of St. Louis REALTORS®. Michele departed on December 24, leaving a legacy characterized by dedication, leadership, and an unwavering passion for our profession.

Michele transcended the role of a mere president; she was our first "virtual" leader, steering us through the challenges posed by the initial wave of COVID-19 during her tenure. Her commitment to our Association remained steadfast, and she played a pivotal role in the approval and oversight of the St. Louis REALTORS® headquarters renovation, which took place in 2021.

As the broker-owner of Sloan Choice Realty, Michele made substantial contributions to our community and industry. Her legendary love for weather forecasting added a unique and personal touch to her leadership. In recent days, Michele has made significant contributions to monitoring the antitrust trial in Kansas City, and her dedication to enhancing our contracts and forms library will stand as a lasting testament to her impact.

A member of St. Louis REALTORS® since May 1987, Michele's commitment was unparalleled. She served on numerous committees and chaired several, including Grievance, Contracts and Forms Committee, Affinity Work Group, Finance, Executive, Legal Action, SLARPAC, Performance/Compensation Review, Advisory Council, and Board of Directors. Additionally, she served as a Missouri REALTORS® Director. Michele's legacy extends beyond her governance roles; she was a gifted educator known for her ability to teach and entertain. Her contributions to our learning community have left an indelible mark, having taught on multiple occasions for St. Louis REALTORS®.

We invite you to read her online obituary. Please join us in remembering and celebrating the life of a remarkable individual who dedicated so much to our association and industry. We extend our deepest condolences to Michele's daughter Jessica, mother Peggy, father William, her friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory continue to inspire us all.
