Posted by: Dan Sale on Wednesday, February 5, 2025

As we enter 2025, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our more than 8,000 REALTOR® and affiliate members. Your commitment to St. Louis REALTORS® strengthens our collective mission of advocating for the real estate industry, upholding professionalism, and creating opportunities for success.

Looking back on 2024, we navigated significant industry changes, achieved legislative victories, and deepened our community impact. Despite challenges, we remained steadfast in our mission and made a real difference together. Here are some key highlights from the past year. For a full breakdown please explore our Annual Report.

Adapting to Industry Changes: Sitzer/Burnett Settlement Agreement
One of the most defining issues of 2024 was the Sitzer/Burnett v. National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Settlement Agreement, which brought substantial changes to real estate practices. To ensure our members were prepared, we:

  • Amended dozens of contracts and introduced new ones.
  • Hosted 22 contract update sessions and multiple informational programs.
  • Launched a dedicated online resource hub with FAQs and regular updates.
  • Maintained ongoing communication with managing brokers.
  • Organized a lender and title agent forum (held on Jan. 24, 2025) to continue these vital discussions.

Reimagining St. Louis: A Bold Vision for Our Region
I’m excited to share an important update regarding our initiative that has been years in the making: the Reimagining St. Louis plan. This plan is a bold vision to strengthen housing, economic development, and community investment in our region. This effort, led by St. Louis REALTORS®, was built on the recommendations of a dedicated Presidential Advisory Group (PAG) and has already begun making a meaningful impact. Our Reimagining St. Louis video captures the heart of this initiative and our progress. We believe this initiative exemplifies the power of REALTOR® leadership in driving positive change.

Professional Development & Leadership Growth
With 2024 being a renewal year for real estate licensees, education remained a top priority. During the renewal period, we:

  • Hosted 118 continuing education classes (102 residential, 16 commercial).
  • Offered five designation courses.
  • Ensured compliance with NAR’s Code of Ethics requirements.
  • Graduated a new class from our seventh consecutive Leadership Academy, empowering future industry and Association leaders.
  • Saw robust usage of our REALTOR® Conference Center, with over 90 days of rentals and events held in the space.

Advocacy Wins & Legislative Successes
Our advocacy efforts in 2024 delivered meaningful victories for our members and the community:

  • Partnered with Missouri REALTORS® to pass critical Land Bank Coalition legislation, defeated efforts to restrict the initiative petition process, and protected Historic Tax Credits in Missouri.
  • Worked with the Vacancy Collaborative to address urban vacancy and successfully led the campaign for Proposition V in November.
  • Supported the re-election of four REALTOR® members across St. Louis County in April and celebrated the election of two members to the State House in November.
  • Secured over $445,000 in grants to bolster advocacy and community initiatives.

RPAC Fundraising & REALTOR® Influence
Thanks to an incredible last-minute push, we exceeded our $199,026 RPAC fundraising goal, raising an additional $363 to support REALTOR®-friendly candidates. SLARPAC expanded its influence by hosting three candidate fundraisers and launching our first-ever Legislative Forecast Breakfast.

Making a Difference: REALTOR® Housing Assistance Fund (RHAF)
RHAF raised $54,000 through six fundraising events and awarded $45,000 in grants to 11 local agencies dedicated to housing stability. Your generosity continues to make a tangible impact in our community. I encourage you to review our RHAF Annual Report.

Member Engagement & Growth
In 2024, we:

  • Hosted 224 events, welcoming over 20,000 members and guests.
  • Facilitated more than 150 committee meetings.
  • Strengthened our marketing, communications, and sponsorship programs to keep members informed and engaged.

Looking Ahead to 2025
As we embark on a new year, we remain dedicated to serving you and strengthening our profession. Your support fuels our efforts, and together, we will continue to advance the industry, advocate for positive change, and build a stronger St. Louis real estate community.

Here’s to another year of growth, impact, and success!

Wishing you a prosperous 2025!
