A decade ago, the St. Louis Regional Permitting Collaborative was formed with the goal of streamlining the permitting process in the St. Louis region, and, as a part of that effort, St. Louis REALTORS® has been an advocate.

In St. Louis County alone, there are almost 90 municipalities, 23 fire districts, and a number of utility companies. When a project owner, developer, contractor, or architect looks to begin a project, there are many permits to apply for and much confusion on where and how to apply.

Over the years, our goal has been to refine this process by condensing all permitting applications for plan review into one easily accessible online location. In order for this to be accomplished, we knew that St. Louis County Government would have to make the first major step. After much effort and collaboration with St. Louis County Executive Sam Page and his team, we are proud to announce that progress has brought two phases of improvements online and are on track for full online permitting and plan review to be implemented by year-end. To learn more about the progress, click here to watch this brief video and click here to see the status report.

If you would like to reach out directly to St. Louis County with any feedback you may have as improvements are implemented, contact information can be found at the end of the status report. Also, you can reach out to Charlie Hinderliter, Director of Government Affairs, at [email protected].
