A decade ago, the St. Louis Regional Permitting Collaborative was formed with the goal of streamlining the permitting process in the St. Louis region, and, as a part of that effort, St. Louis REALTORS® has been an advocate. In St. Louis County alone, there are almost 90 municipalities, 23 fire districts, and a number of utility companies. When a project owner, developer, contractor, or architect looks to begin a project, there are many permits to apply for and much confusion on where and how to apply.
