BASIC FUNCTION:
Work under the direction of the Chief Advocacy Officer and Director of Commercial Services in a member-facing role to fundraise for the REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC), support advocacy initiatives, and provide administrative and project management support for the Government Affairs Department. The Political Fundraising Coordinator serves as a key member of the Government Affairs team and assists in advancing the Association’s strategic plan, mission, goals, objectives, and related policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for members regarding RPAC and related fundraising initiatives; coordinates member involvement and educates membership through presentations on fundraising and advocacy initiatives.
  • Acts as staff liaison for the RPAC Fundraising Committee and works to achieve annual RPAC fundraising goals and performance metrics.
  • Supports the Chief Advocacy Officer and Director of Commercial Services through administrative and project management tasks, including (but not limited to): preparing agendas, packets, reports, and minutes for department committees; scheduling and managing virtual and in-person meetings; coordinating speakers and facilities; maintaining records; and tracking department projects and deadlines.
  • Coordinates grant administration activities including application tracking, reporting, compliance, budget monitoring, recordkeeping, and project documentation.
  • Maintains fundraising, advocacy, committee, and member engagement records within the Association Management System (AMS), fundraising databases, and related tracking systems; prepares reports, performance metrics, and data analysis as needed.
  • Coordinates with the Marketing & Communications Department to promote RPAC fundraising and advocacy initiatives through presentations, newsletters, social media, videos, email communications, and other outreach efforts.
  • Supports the Government Affairs Department in executing the advocacy and fundraising components of the Association’s strategic plan, mission, goals, objectives, and related policies.
  • Coordinates member participation in RPAC fundraising activities, Calls for Action, advocacy programs, legislative meetings, and other member engagement initiatives.
  • Assists with event planning and logistics for fundraising events, advocacy programs, committee meetings, educational programs, and member engagement activities.
  • Represents the Association at conferences, meetings, and events as requested, which may require occasional evening work and overnight travel.
  • Organizes and coordinates a comprehensive REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) fundraising campaign, including (but not limited to): membership dues billing, database administration, special events, personal solicitations, and campaign finance compliance.
  • Stays informed and up-to-date on relevant policy issues, legislative activity, and REALTOR® advocacy priorities.

  • Establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with members of the Association, colleagues, elected officials, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Superior customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with membership and the general public, both in person and on the telephone.
  • Professional telephone presence and ability to confidently communicate with members, volunteers, elected officials, and community stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.Written and typing skills with familiarity composing correspondence, reports, agendas, committee meeting minutes, and presentation materials.
  • Comfortable presenting to small groups.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable working with databases, CRM systems, association management software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work evening hours roughly 10% of the time (this may also include some overnight travel).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with an emphasis in political science, law, public policy, communications, nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in fundraising, event planning, association management, nonprofit administration, public policy, government affairs, member engagement, or related fields preferred.
  • Experience maintaining databases, CRM systems, AMS platforms, fundraising software, or campaign databases preferred.
  • Experience performing a variety of administrative and project management tasks such as preparing presentation materials, directing correspondence, meeting coordination, reporting, and recordkeeping.
  • Experience working with volunteers, committees, boards, or member-driven organizations preferred. 

POLITICAL INVOLVEMENT POLICY:
It shall be the policy of the Association that the individual holding this position shall not, throughout his/her tenure, run for any office of a partisan nature nor become personally involved (aside from gifts of their own) in any fundraising activities or campaigns unless same is delineated in their job description or directed by the Chief Advocacy Officer and Director of Commercial Services.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
  • Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
  • Ability to speak concisely and communicate effectively.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
  • Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.
