St. Louis REALTORS® is proud to present the Real Estate Mentorships program. A mentorship opportunity focused on empowering multicultural and minority communities to connect with the broader real estate industry.

This mentorship opportunity will help individuals:

  • Encourage and promote the development of generational wealth through property ownership

How To Get Involved

St. Louis REALTORS® is actively seeking mentor and mentee volunteers for the 2026 Real Estate Mentorships program, which was designed to drive inclusivity in the real estate industry. 



The Application Period for the 2026 Real Estate Mentorships Program is now open!

We're not currently accepting additional applications for mentees. Please stay tuned for future opportunities! 

MENTOR APPLICATION

Program Overview

General Information:
  • Applications for mentors and mentees are due by July 17, 2026.
  • Starting with a mandatory kick-off meeting, The program will take place from August through September 2026 and will include education sessions, virtual events, and more.
  • Individuals age 18+  are welcome to apply, including students.
  • The mentor-mentee relationship will begin once they’re informed about their partner and have met with the program coordinator, who will give instructions. Each party will work together to discuss and develop expectations, set objectives, coordinate schedules, and complete a formal mentoring agreement (to be provided to the program coordinator).

  • August — September |  Program in Sessions & 1-on-1 Mentorship Meetings

Real Estate Mentorships Program – Timeline

  • Mentors and mentees must attend the Real Estate Mentorships program kick-off meeting.
  • Dedicate one hour weekly, with up to four to eight hours of participation a month.
  • Agree on a schedule to meet weekly one-on-one, with at least two meetings a month, or whenever the mentee needs to talk to the mentor. The scheduled communication time will be included in a mentoring agreement, which both parties will sign and the program coordinator, solidifying the mentorship sessions.
  • Neither party can use the mentorship relationship to solicit, recruit, or engage one another for business purposes without the prior written consent of their brokerage or company.
  • Weekly training mentoring activities for each mentor and mentee.
  • Attend business-related events, job shadowing opportunities, and network opportunities for professional development.
  • Discuss training and educational opportunities, tips to improve communication skills, and recommend developmental activities.
  • Receive constructive feedback from industry experts.

 

For Mentors

Who should apply to be a mentor? We are seeking REALTORS®, affiliate members, and any professionals within the real estate industry who wish to participate.

What are the benefits of becoming a mentor?

  • Help develop a mentee’s future role in the real estate industry by personally and professionally supporting their growth.
  • Gain networking opportunities with fellow mentors, industry professionals, and lead others in your local real estate community.
  • Obtain personal satisfaction from enriching and developing a mentee while gaining exposure to new and different thinking styles, knowledge, and perspectives.

Tips for Success

  • Set realistic expectations and be clear about your capacity and the level of support you can provide.
  • Foster goal setting by working with your mentee to establish mutual objectives and define what you both aim to accomplish.
  • Be an accountability partner by assigning actionable steps for your mentee and following up to ensure their progress. 
  • View yourself as a learning guide rather than the sole expert. Encourage your mentee to seek more resources and connect with others to broaden their perspectives. 
  • Ask thought-provoking questions to lead your mentee to their own solutions and think critically. 

For Mentees

Who should apply to be a mentee? Any individual (at least 18 years of age) who is interested in learning the fundamentals of real estate, including different career paths in the industry. No license is required!

What are the benefits of being a mentee?

  • Access to an expert real estate professional who can provide guidance and insight.
  • Gain an understanding of the real estate industry.
  • Learn the meaning and application of real estate skills in a variety of environments.

Tips for Success

  • Demonstrate curiosity and have a genuine desire to learn from your mentor.
  • Be goal-oriented by taking an interest in mentorship and completing any action items your mentor assigns. 
  • Come prepared by understanding that a successful mentorship program requires individual research and learning.
  • Embrace feedback and be open to constructive criticism and opportunities for improvement.
